The purpose of this research is to investigate different levels of country risk and its role in the relationship between renewable energy consumption and economic growth in Iran, during the period (1997-2021). In terms of purpose, this research is of applied type and in terms of causal-analytical method, and the method of collecting information is of documentary-library type. After calculating the threshold value of each variable, we analyzed the effect of renewable energy consumption on economic growth using the threshold distance of different country risks. The results indicate the non-linear effect of renewable energy consumption on economic growth under different risks in the country. This research is one of the first studies in Iran that analyzed the relationship between renewable energy consumption and economic growth based on a risk-based approach. According to the regression model described in the current research, this research provides suggestions for developing a suitable strategic plan with the aim of specifying short-term and long-term goals, and future vision, as a road map for those involved.

Oil revenues make up the major part of revenues of the oil exporting countries. So, the fluctuation of oil price is very important for these countries. This study investigates the asymmetric effects of oil shocks on output in Iran over the period of 1369:1-1386:6 using the Markov switching approach. The results suggest that the effects of oil shocks on output are separable into two regimes. In addition, the results also show that the effect of oil shocks over the recessions is significantly higher than that over the booms. In other words, the impacts of oil shocks on output in the Iranian economy over the booms and recessions are asymmetric.

During the last decades, global warming and climate change has created much concern across the world. These concerns coincided with the aim of achieving higher economic growth, has become Environmental risks arising from economic activity to a controversial issue. The main objective of this study is to investigate the long run effects of economic and financial developments on environmental pollution in selected Opec countries over the period 1973-2007. The results show that financial development indicators have significantly negative impact on CO2 emissions. Also, the results show that the relationship between economic development and CO2 emissions follow a N shaped relationship. Hence, the recommended policy is more financial development in order to improve the quality of the environment.
